Breasts and bras.

Okay, let’s talk about bras. I. Hate. Wearing. A regular. Bra.

Because I have big boobs and a regular bra well makes it look bigger. I like my sports bra where everything is just squished together and I look smaller. Little to no importance to my boobs please. Thanks.

Let’s understand what breasts are.

Breasts contain mainly fat, glands, connective tissue and fluids. These contents are supported against gravity by tissues and the skin that covers them. When you’re sitting or standing, there is much strain on these elements. As you walk or exercise, the tissues inside the breast may experience tiny injuries, causing pain and discomfort. The weight of a large bust may be too much for the chest to support comfortably. The breasts itself don’t have muscle to lift itself up. However one can always work on the pectorals to get firmer breasts

Okay let’s get something straight no set of hands are the same so definitely your breasts also won’t be! When checking your size you have to consider factors such as your unique breast shape, your band size, and your cup size — all of which rarely matches neatly with a single number and letter. This is where sister sizes come in.

Chances are, you learned somewhere along the line that you had a bra size and if it sort of fit, that was basically the end of the story. You may have also thought that unless one’s breasts actually changed size, there was just no way someone who was, for example, a B cup could also be a D cup. Wrong.

Bra sizes are more like ratios. The volume of a cup size (or how much breast tissue it can hold) varies with the band size. Let me break it down for you.

And we are constantly bombarded with “perfect perky breasts” on media or well porn but that’s also cause it’s been enhanced and done. Normal ordinary people have normal regular boobs. Sorry to disappoint. 💁🏾‍♀️

How to measure size properly?

Bra size is notoriously fickle between different lingerie brands; a C-cup at one store can easily be a D-cup at another, and some bra sizes can grow and shrink (especially in band size) over the course of a day or between washings. The best option is to know your bra size by taking bust measurements using these simple measuring instructions, which will ensure a perfect fit in band and in cup—and can even help you find the right amount of support.

Remember that: 90 percent of you support must be coming from your band not your straps.

Step 1: Put on your best non padded bra and stand in front of the mirror.

Step 2: Measure below the bust where the rib cage is For band size, measure around your rib cage just under the breasts and round up to the nearest inch.

Step 3: To get cup size, measure around the center of the breasts, across your nipples, then subtract the band size from this second number. (For example: 40 – 37 = 3.) If it’s 1, you’re an A, 2 = B, 3 = C, 4 = D and so on.

If you’re still confused I’m attaching a measuring calculator for you to somewhat understand.

The best is to go and ask a salesperson at a lingerie or department store to do it for you. But it’s a good idea to have some baseline numbers before you go.

So if you want to shop online also, always check with the brand in person then shop since brand varies (sux I know)

How many kind of bras are there?

To be honest a lot. A balcony bra, underwire bra,

Non- wired bra, Bralettes, Demi cub bra, full cup bra, plus size bra, shelf bra, longline bra, maximizer bar, minimiser bra, non padded bra, multi-way bras, stick on bras, plunge bras, push up bra, T-shirt bra, padded bra are oh just a few.

But you use bras for different reasons:

If your breasts tend to sink to the bottom of your bras, a demi or balconette bra will provide lift. (Like the ones I’m wearing! Also I have major sagging boobs hey #SaggyBoobsMatter okay! ) If they’re very round, look for a full-coverage cup or minimizer. Also, brands vary, so even if you have a rough idea of measurement that can get you started somewhere.

Do breasts size change?

YESSSSSSS! And getting fitted once isn’t going to cut it—as your body weight changes, your bra size will too. Susan Nethero, the bra whisperer recommends a “bra checkup” whenever a woman’s weight fluctuates by 10 percent, which often happens as a result of pregnancy, nursing, exercise, dietary changes, hormones, menopause, puberty and weight gain.

Nethero’s advice: “The bra should be tight enough that you can fit only two fingers under the band. The back of the bra should be level with or lower than the front. You want it to be stable as you move throughout the day.”

Watch for key fit concerns. On the no-no list: Boob spillage over the top of the cups (too small). Gaping in the cups (too big). Straps digging into your shoulders or sliding down. Any kind of pinching in the backband, or rolls of skin that bulge beyond the edge. You should be able to comfortably fasten a bra on the second or third hook—if only the last hook will do, it’s too small. The bridge of the bra (centered between the cups) and the underwire around the sides should sit completely flush with the skin.

“Breast tissue is held up by a ligament that, if not supported, can stretch over time,” Vicci Hill- Lombardi, EdD, associate professor of athletic training at Seton Hall University.

My sister bought me three bras when I was 18. Today I’m 26 and SOMETIMES I still wear them. Like I said I’m the beginning I NEVER wear bras. I was a 34 DD (the one I’m wearing down. And now I’ve dropped down to a 32 D.

you can see how the cup is so loose BUT it looks like it’s fits perfectly. Bra from La Senza

This one a 34c as you can see my left looks more bigger than my tight (well it is like that but it’s more visible in the green triumphs bra because the c cup is a little smaller for me.

this La Senza bra is a 32 can even though it looks okay you can see that it’s still piercing my skin.

Is it okay to wear sports bra regularly? I have stopped wearing normal bras

Honestly I only wear sports bras because I find regular bras tiresome. However it is totally your choice.

Are padded bras better than non padded bras in terms of lift?

So here’s the thing if you are of a smaller size wearing a padded bra will give you the illusion that you have bigger boobs. Doesn’t add to the lift.

How to know if sports bras are spoilt?

If they become loose and don’t give you any more support is one way for you to know!

How to deal with one boob being bigger than the other?

Well my love it is normal! All of us have asymmetrical boobs fuck that we have asymmetrical bodies. If our face was in perfect symmetry we would look strange. No jokes. Embrace how you are naturally!

How do I go about with strapless bras?

A strapless bra also needs to fit firmly around the body, but because you don’t have the support of the straps, you may need to go up a cup size so it doesn’t pinch the breasts and create a ridge across the top, Nethero says. “A good thing to look for is a strapless bra that has latex or a grip strip across the body to hold it in place better, since you don’t have the additional support of the straps.”

How tight should the bra be? Tight enough that the tatas don’t fall out. But not so tight that they kill you.

Why are bras so expensive?

Because consumerism Also apparently they are all handmaid. Apparently.

Is it a must to wear sports bra?

If you’re exercising HELL YES!

Are push up bras uncomfortable?

I honestly wouldn’t know. Yes, I’ve been blessed but no I always wanted to reduce the boobs and not bring more attention to them. So I have never.

If you get strap marks in shoulders like a deep dig does it mean wrong size?

Yes.

Is it okay to wear a tube dress without a bra?

Honestly, it’s okay to NOT wear a bra!

Is it okay to wear a bra when you go to bed?

Please do not wear a bra or underwear to bed. Let your little ones breathe and be free.

How do you choose a perfect bra?

Well, I just go to a sports shop. Lol honestly, you need to figure out what you need from a bra and work it accordingly.

Nipple situation when I go braless? \I have such pointed nipples that they are even visible with a bra on! It’s so embarrassing. Please help.

I personally believe nipples are natural as fuck so however “pointed” or “out there” they are you gotta embrace your nips! There is nothing embarrassing about your body, love. Nothing. Nada. Zilch! However if you do feel embarrassed or shy about them )which you shouldn’t but hey you know! I shall help you either way!) what you can do is buy rounded bandaid from the chemist and apply it. Believe me removing it out would be painful. Speaking from experience it’s not worth the pain.

What is an ideal life span of a bra?

When worn correctly and taken care of correctly, a bra is going to last you about eight months,”. “After that, the band is stretched out, so it’s not going to support you anymore.” That’s why you should have six to seven bras in your wardrobe so you can rotate them, making them last longer. Damn, mines been 8 years. But in my defence I never use it so I don’t ever Wash it. So it’s as good as new.

Why do we have to wear them still?

Because my love We nor any human is okay seeing boobs jiggling while walking on the roads also imagine the rickshaws. I’ve done it and my boobs keep hitting me in my face with Bombay roads. Don’t let your boobs kill you. But more so because it’s a construction of how “we must be”. One day we will be more evolved with all this. One day.

I understand buying a good bra is difficult. But hang in there you will find it. However don’t wear a wrong size bra because it will have adverse effects on your health from severe headaches, to back pain to rashes. Take care of yourself and your health!
